It’s Friday: China – a story of revival

It’s Friday: “Awake My Soul” by Chris Tomlin with Lecrae

Chris Tomlin who has written many of the songs that we sing, and also given us new arrangements to old favourites, has a new album out.

It’s called “Burning Lights” and I’ve been enjoying this song very much.

Lecrae comes in part way through with some words from Ezekiel 37 a passage known as The Valley of Dry Bone, where it says:

“Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.’”

“Breathe on me breath of God, breath on me”:

I’ve also been enjoying “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)”:

It’s Friday: “Slip Away” by Josh Garrels

The following video is taken from a documentary film to be released in the New Year called The Sea In Between:

An audio-visual experience, documenting what happens when Josh Garrels and Mason Jar Music go to an island to try to create something beautiful.

And create something beautiful is what they’ve achieved:

It’s Friday: “Born is the King (It’s Christmas)” by Hillsong

It’s Friday: “Born is the King (It’s Christmas)” by Hillsong

It’s very nearly Christmas, as we used to say to our child, just four more sleeps to go.

This weeks treat is one of the best Christmas songs of recent years. It’s been played over, and over again in our house this year (and last):

Born unto us this day a Saviour
Gifted from heaven to a manger
The hope of the world
A light for all mankind
All of the earth rejoice
It’s Christmas time

So lift up your voice and sing out His praise
It’s Christmas
Born is the King, rejoice in the day
It’s Christmas
Make a joyful sound
It’s Christmas
Let His praise resound
It’s Christmas

It’s Friday: Kibogora – Look to the Future

There’s a hospital in rural Rwanda which is written deep into the hearts of many people at Fulwood Free Methodist Church. Many people have travelled there to serve and even more have given. Our relationship has recently extended to a newly established Polytechnic. It’s a special place.

The following film highlights plans for the future:

“Look to the Future” is a film for Kibogora Hospital that highlights the need for a re-development that will raise the standard of health care for over 200,000 people. The hospital currently has 245 beds, and the staff show compassion and love to all who walk through their gates. The impact of the hospital doesn’t stop there; the hospital plays an important role in the community reaching out through Christian love and acceptance to all who are in need.
