It’s Friday: A Pastor Addicted to Performance (and Drugs)

It-s-Friday.jpgThis video is a humbling story of recovery and restoration that reminds us that Pastors are just as human as the rest of us.

Joseph “Skip” Ryan resigned at Pastor of Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas in 2006. It was then revealed that he was an opiate addict, in bondage to prescription pain medicines. An archive of previous programmes have recently been published to YouTube so you can watch them at any time.

In the following programme J John interviews Rachel Gardner, Director of Romance Academy, a nationwide sex and relationships education initiative run by youth workers. She is also remembered for her part in the BBC’s No Sex Please We’re Teenagers series which challenged twelve teenagers to remain celibate for 5 months.
