This coming Monday we will be joining together with people from across Preston at the Deepdale Football Stadium for Silent Night Carols. This event has been inspired by the 100 years anniversary of the start of the First World War and an event on Christmas Day that lead to a temporary truce in the battle.
This week’s video is a new song written by Chris Eaton and focussing on that same thought with proceeds going to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund:
This Sunday is the first in Advent; on this day when we’ve seen scenes of people fighting to get their Black Friday bargains let us remind ourselves what this season is really about.
Advent is the season when we look forward to the coming of the Saviour King, not as a Conquering Warrior, not as a Great Politician, but as a baby.
Behold the star of Bethlehem The World of God has become flesh Unto us a child is born The Saviour of this broken world
Oh hear the angel voices Sing come let us adore Him Peace has come for our King is with us
Fully God and fully man He comes for all with open hands He rules with love on David’s throne All praise belongs to Christ alone
A regular programme on local radio station Preston FM is “Bring Me Sunshine” which is co-hosted by John “JK” Kenny.
It’s described like this:
A light-hearted, 1 hour jukebox show including Pop, Rock, Blues and Gospel, with your hosts, John ‘JK’ Kenny and Andrew ‘Harpy’ Blake, featuring music mainly from the 70’s and 80’s, with choice selections from the other decades.
The next show will be broadcast on Saturday 15th November from 17:00 to 18:00, it will be repeated on Sunday 16th November at the same time.

Death, be not proud, though the whole world fear you: Mighty and dreadful you may seem, But death, be not proud, for your pride has failed you You will not kill me. Though you may dwell in plague and poison, You’re a slave to fate and desperate men, So death, if your sleep be the gates to Heaven, Why your confidence? When you will be no more, You will be no more, When you will be no more. Even death will die. Even death will die.
A new song from Worship Central ahead of a new album, also called Set Apart, that’s coming out on 26th October 2014 and is currently available to pre-order.
Back to our first love, nothing between us Back to your heart, to the start of it all, where we found you Out of the ashes, into the fire You are refining our hearts in the flames of your presence
Set apart for our God above, set apart for the one we love Set apart for your glory, we are yours, yours
Sacred and holy, your name is worthy Jesus, awaken our hearts now to be your revival
Set apart for our God above, set apart for the one we love Set apart for your glory, we are yours, yours Everything for you alone, everything to make you known Set apart for your glory, we are yours, yours
