You have read the book now get the study guide – Prayer is one of the most powerful, life-changing things we will ever do, and yet we often struggle. It’s hard to find the time. It’s repetitive, we get distracted and sometimes even bored. And the answers often feel few and far between. In this companion study guide to Praying Women, bestselling author Sheila Walsh shares practical helps directly from God’s Word, showing you how to know what to say, how to pray as a joy-filled warrior, and how to let go of the past and stand on God’s promises for you now.

Praying Women Study Guide

Most people find faith because they know another Christian, see the difference Jesus makes, and hear their story. Yet most of us are reluctant faith sharers. This book inspires every Christian to see themselves as a story bearer. Four distinct stories collide in great evangelism: God’s story, our story, the story of our friends and the story of our culture. The book expounds them all, encouraging us to learn and tell well the first two and listen and react well to the others. Phil Knox punctuates his book with engaging accounts of success and failure. Story bearing has the potential to change the world of those around you.

In previous books respected New York pastor and bestselling author Timothy Keller has looked at such diverse and topical subjects as the existence of God, our need to do justice, the meaning of Jesus’ life, and the human temptation to make idols – all through the twin lenses of a biblical framework and an engagement with contemporary culture. In this new book, co-authored with his wife, Kathy, he turns his attention to that most complex of matters: our need for love, and its expression in marriage. Beginning with the biblical narrative, and its pictures of marriage that span the original ideal to the broken to the redemptive, he looks at themes of friendship and commitment; the completion of men and women in each other; singleness, sex and divorce; and ministry and discipleship within the context of marriage. This is a profound and engaging work that will challenge and inspire people in all stages of life – single, newlywed and married.

Everyone wants a wonderful marriage and ‘The 60 Minute Marriage’ lets you know that marriage is more than just romance – sometimes it’s a fight to keep it alive. Rob Parsons gives insight into the root of the problems and recommends practical solutions such as sharing with your partner your past hurts, heartbreaks and disappointments. This simple act of open honesty, he says, will help you and your partner put things into context, promote understanding and start the healing.

“Fulwood Scattered” Update – Monday 15th June 2020

Today’s update comes from Ian who is reflecting on an encounter on a road to Emmaus. Jesus walks with two disciples, but they are kept from recognising him. How many times is Jesus walking with us in our situation and yet we fail to recognise him.
