What does the Bible teach us about mental health, and how does God meet us when our minds are troubled? In this first message of a four-part series, we explore how God works in us through our struggles, renewing our minds and shaping us to become more like Jesus.

From 1 Thessalonians 5:23–24, we are reminded that God cares about every part of who we are: body, mind and spirit. Following Jesus does not mean we will never suffer, but we can be confident that God is with us and remains at work in us, even in our most difficult seasons.

When we struggle, we can learn to recognise the lies and replace them with the truth of God’s Word. We can bring our struggles honestly to God in prayer and learn to depend on his strength. As we turn our thoughts towards him, we can find the perfect peace he offers, whatever we may be facing.
