In this new season, we are running a range of courses designed to help us all grow as disciples.
Together we have learnt how to run courses and small groups effectively online and while different from physically meeting together it does have benefits such as joining in even if you are away from home.
If you would like to know more about any course, please contact us or if there is an introductory session join us online for that and then decide if you would like to do the full course.
Freedom in Christ Discipleship Course at FFMC
“Freedom in Christ” is designed to help every Christian become a fruitful disciple and make their life count. It is appreciated by Christians of all backgrounds, from those who have been Christians a long time to the very newest. It has been completed by over 70 people at Fulwood in the last 18 months and by over 350,000 people in English and translated into 30+ languages.
Each session consists of short films followed by small group discussions. The groups are facilitated by a team who have done the course several times and each group will become a community during the course if previous ones are anything to go by.
The course will be online using Zoom. There will be catch up arrangements for anyone who misses a week and each participant will receive a manual and other materials.
For more information please visit www.freedominchrist.uk/discipleshipcourse
Join us for an introductory session at 7.30pm on Tuesday 22nd September.
During the introductory session there will be live stories from those who have recently done the course.
The course is 10 sessions, finishing on 8th December.
An Introductory Course to Christian Theology
The course will be based around “Café Theology” by Michael Lloyd and published by ALPHA.
This is an entry level course and ideal for anyone wishing to explore Christian Theology. Whether you have recently completed an Alpha course or are a long-term Christian looking for a refresh this is for you.
There will be lots of opportunity for questions and comments so that we all learn together.
The sessions will be via Zoom on Saturday mornings at 10am, starting with an introductory session on 19th September.
There will be 10 sessions finishing at the end of November.

Join a Homegroup
Every week over 230 adults meet in 21 small groups, which are currently meeting online. While we have not been able to see each other face to face we have been able to connect using Zoom and WhatsApp.
We would like to encourage everyone to join a group this term as we start a new series (Frontline Sundays) linked to the Sunday morning online Gatherings.
Following on from the “Talking Jesus” series earlier this year we will be imagining together what would happen if every Christian looked around at the people they spend their days with and asked God: how do you want me to be good news to the people here today?
The series titles are:
- 1: All the difference in the world – 13th Sept
- 2: Wherever we are – 20th Sept
- 3: Whatever we do – 27th Sept
- 4: Whoever we are – 4th Oct
- 5: Together we grow – 11th Oct
Growing Leaders
We ran a Growing Leaders course last year and although interrupted at the end by the lockdown, it was highly valued by the 9 participants who went all the way through with us.
This year, commencing in September, we are planning to run the course online fortnightly.
We are also going to make it more widely available to young leaders and potential leaders and also to others who later in life are taking on leadership challenges. Because it is online it will be possible for students who are away from home to participate.
There are three parts to the course, each one having a particular focus:
- Part 1: Firm foundations for Christian leadership
- Part 2: Key skills for Christian leadership
- Part 3: Keeping faithful in Christian leadership
Between sessions, participants meet with a mentor to help them integrate what they are learning into their life and leadership.
If you are interested please contact Pastor Lawrence and we will send you an invite to the introductory session.
