It's FridayI did have another It’s Friday post lined up, but when I learnt on Wednesday that George Beverly Shea had died at the age of 104 I had to commemorate the event.

George Beverly Shea sang at Billy Graham crusades from the 1940’s for nearly 60 years.

Speaking at George Beverly Shea’s 100th birthday Billy Graham said this:

“I first met Bev Shea while in Chicago when he was on Moody Radio, s a young man starting my ministry, I asked Bev if he would join me. He said yes and for over 60 years we had the privilege of ministering together across the country and around the world. Bev was one of the most humble, gracious men I have ever known and one of my closest friends. I loved him as a brother.”

He sang over 500 vocal solos and recorded more than 70 albums. It’s estimated that he sang to over 200 million people during his many years touring with Billy Graham.
